I have always considered myself fortunate - for over 30 years I truly loved what I did in my job. Working in
technology has always been interesting, exciting, challenging and always changing. Particularly over the last five
years in my sales role, I worked with small one or two person companies to multi-million dollar corporations to
help them make a wise investment in technology that would be a vital support to the success and growth of
their business.
My first step was to negotiate with my employer about being a free agent – I would still be able to contact
companies and my regular customers to see if I could be of assistance in identifying their technology needs –
and remuneration would be on any additional business I brought to my employer. Being a free agent required me to set up my own business – which was surprisingly easier than I thought.
However, as I mentioned earlier, companies were not as focused on major investments in technology so I made
the decision to expand my business – the key question was “expand it into what?”
Before I even began research I started with a list of “what I knew” and came up with the following:
- I really enjoyed connecting with people
- I was really good at listening for what they really needed and wanted
- I was great at coming up with realistic and viable solutions
- I thrived in situations that were new, and always evolving
When I began my research there was one area that kept coming up—Health & Wellness. People are definitely
more health conscious, are looking for value for their money and are looking for products that are made by
companies with integrity both in the type of raw product they are using and in the manufacturing process, after extensive and exhaustive research (including multiple franchise opportunities) I did find an organization
that (a) I could join for free; (b) provided all training for free (c) had an excellent support network; (d) made full
use of technology in all aspects of the business and (e) had a global reputation for integrity in product and
process.
Direct marketing via technology is one of the new norms in our life. Some predictions indicate that as many as
20 percent of households will have an additional income stream outside of the traditional 9-5 jobs as people everywhere
are finding ways to reorganize and transform their personal and professional lives.
Their training and support package is 100% free and they provided online websites,
apps and even an AI supported tool which recommends products suitable for Mental Wellness. I still have the flexibility of working from home, and use technology to connect with not only local partners but
partners from around the world. I have connected with partners virtually in New Zealand, Australia, South
America, and the Netherlands. I also enjoy the flexibility of how much work I do – if I want to make extra money
I simply sell more product – and I am paid within 24 hours!
I want to continue to help people in their Mental Wellness Journey people, to make a difference, to help them and coach them to be successful in a
world that will never be “the way it was”. If anyone is looking for their inner phoenix and would like to explore
how to build an online income – who want to explore alternative ways to develop a strong income strategy,
please feel free to reach out to me at josiek@justbis.ca.
